For the most part deleted files rarely present a problem for us. Still deleted files need to be divided into two types. Those are, the files we want to stay deleted, and the files that we need to recover or undelete. Once we are absolutely 100% certain we want to be rid of a file we should drag the file into a file shredder program. There are programs available specifically for this purpose. This will scramble its contents so that no one can ever reconstruct the file and gain access to out confidential records. Of course if all you are deleting is your grandmother’s fudge recipe such top-secret treatment may not be needed. For most instances a basic delete is all that is required.
Deleted files become much more important when we discover that we didn’t want to delete them in the first place. When this happens the issue becomes one of deleted files recovery.
Just as with file shredding, file recovery requires a specialized program for this purpose.
There are hundreds of programs to recover deleted files. What then separates the best programs from all of the lesser ones?
Most programs to recover deleted files have a secret flaw that the makers of this software do not like to reveal.
